Veterans Exposed to Agent Orange and Other Herbicides

If you are a veteran who served during the Vietnam era, there is a good chance that you were exposed to Agent Orange and other herbicides used in support of military operations. In fact, the VA will presume that you were exposed to Agent Orange if you ever set foot in Vietnam or served on a ship or vessel in one of Vietnam's inland waterways.

Because Agent Orange was used so heavily during this time and because it has caused so many serious health problems for veterans, the government presumes that certain cancers are service-connected for Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange. These include prostate cancer, respiratory cancers, soft tissue sarcoma, multiple myeloma, chronic B-cell leukemias, Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

If you believe that your cancer is related to chemical exposure, do not hesitate to talk with one of our VA-accredited claims agents at The Rep For Vets® about your options. Consultations are free and confidential.

Veterans Exposed to Radiation

Thousands of military veterans have been exposed to radiation from atmospheric nuclear explosions and other activities conducted by the U.S. government or other sources. Asbestos, radon, radium and other radioactive materials have all been linked to cancer. If you participated in radiation-risk activities while on active duty or in training, the government presumes that certain illnesses are service-connected. These include cancer, genetic defects and other health problems commonly experienced by people exposed to radiation.
